Wow. That ending tho! The fact that I re-read Magic by Midnight by Allison S. Bass a week after first reading it says everything. This is the kind of book that keeps you awake all night long and makes you giggle and cry all at the same time! You must think, “but I’ve read a bunch of Cinderella retellings, how can this one be any different?” Let me tell you IT IS DIFFERENT! In so so many ways! But I love that the book also doesn’t lose its original story, but instead embellishes it and builds this retelling upon it.

I absolutely love the main character, Felicity. Felicity is a Librarian at the Royal Palace where she is given one of the most important assignments anyone can get. She must shove all her feelings aside and work to accomplish a mission that will save all the kingdom of Valencia and most importantly the people she loves. I don’t want to spoil anyone so go and grab a copy of Allison’s book and read for yourself this beautiful story!

Allison, please don’t leave us with that cliffhanger any longer!!! We need book number two nowwww!
